Best Knife Purchase in 15 years!
I recently spent about 40 dollars at a sporting goods store on a knife made by a major brand name...then lost it overboard in the gulf of Mexico.Discouraged mildly, I decided that in the future I would use a cheaper 'throw away' for my bait knife and perused Amazon for such a knife.I had never heard of Elk Ridge but, at a glance, this knife is one good looking piece of hardware and the price was more than right, so I ordered it but, honestly, I did not expect much. Then it arrived. It looks even better when it's there in front of you. The blade is tight, snuffed in good. The spring assist is The strongest I have ever seen. The knife is heavy, solid and if I had paid 40 dollars for it I would have been thrilled...but I did not pay a Quarter of that! The day after it arrived I ordered another one for my fishing buddy and another style knife from Elk Ridge to put in my go bag that I keep for emergencies. This is one heck of a nice knife and, when it comes to knives, Elk Ridge may just be my new happy place!

Good knife for the money
Good knife for the money. Looks great, sharp blade, decent belt clip : doesnt completely hide away but it works.Cons: very flimsy feeling lock lever. Very thin for a knife this size. So far it seems to hold ok so it is workable. The wood handle is absolutely beautiful to look at but is very smooth. I have dropped this knife a couple times as it slipped out of my grip and barely missed my foot. Be careful. All in all a good deal for what you pay for it. Good gift for sure.

Great quality knife.. just a couple of concerns..
What a great and handsome looking little knife. The open function is smooth and quick. The handle is well made and feels good in the hand. The blade is VERY sharp and short enough to be legal in most places. I only have two issues with the knife that are making me question whether I want to keep it as my regular carry pocket knife. The first is the position of the pocket clip. In the picture it looks to be right near the top edge of the handle where is should be, but mine is about 3/4" inch below the top. When I put the knife in my pocket the top of the knife is sticking out and I'm not a fan of that. Also, the width of the knife is rather hefty and I would rather it be thinner and more low profile so as to not be so bulky in the pocket. I am wearing this knife daily for now to give it a fair shot as I really like to use it.

From cutting apples to shaving tinder for fire building, this gets er dun
'Before I post my positive review for this knife I feel I need to remind everyone something. The first name in this type of knife is folding. No matter how well made with what type of materials, the first function of this type of knife is to fold. The locking systems are great but anything can happen to cause a malfunction and if we don't use a little common sense, we might find out how sharp our knife is.'This knife is so dependable, I bought one for my BOB and my EDC. Sharp, clean lines with a very nice opening assist. Comes ready to use, but I always hone my cutting edge before use. This is not a Heman knife but it isn't a Sherah one either. The size is just right for man or woman This knife is a wonderful gift for anyone that might use a knife. I might say, it is a little difficult to whittle with, but then it wasn't made for that.

Better than expected at price point
I have a lot of inexpensive folders. For most of my needs they suffice. Opening boxes, cutting cord etc. Some of course are better than others. I bought one major brand for aproxately $120. It just didn't work for me and gave it away. The sweet spot for me and my uses seems to be ~$50 - $60. Of course I pay more for Bushcraft knives that need to be tougherIn this case I paid about $8.95 and $5.95 shipping. The knife looks great. The assist is good, lockup and alignment are also good. Sharpness is good out of the box. I will locktite the screws as suggested by others.I will update this review as needed. So far very good for such a low price.

Good knife but Not sharp be very careful, stabbed because of it
the knife itself is a really nice looking and solid feeling knife, it come sharpish and the redwood handle looks beautiful. BUT, after a few weeks of daily use opening boxes and cutting zipties at work the knife quickly became very dull and i was unaware and ended up stabbing my leg with this knife because it was too dull to cut through a zip tie and i was forced to use forced pressure to get the zip tie off and was seriously injured because of it. SO just to recap, this is a pretty solid and decent knife, for im still pleased with it. Just keep in mind it is not razor sharp and to be sharpened if under regular use. NEVER neglect the importance of knife safety as I did and never forget the importance of a sharp knife, you're more likely to cut yourself with a dull one. **WARNING pictures are graphic

I think that this product should be taken off the website
I think that the product is a little bit flimsy the flip mechanism takes it makes it hard to flip every so often and it is also better it is what is needed is this is a cheap product I bought two of them and they are cheap garbage you should not buy this product

Beautiful and functional
I was expecting another low-quality Chinese life. I bought one, and I loved it! So I bought a few more for my friends and then a few more for my family. All responses have been positive. The knives are beautifully made! And while some reviews have mentioned low-quality or not being very sharp, the units I received have had zero defects. And my right finger can attest to it being very sharp. (Small cut, my fault.)Also of note is that the clip is at the perfect height, it is anchored very high on the knife allowing you to keep it inside your pocket but clipped to your pants so it's out of sight out and of mind to the casual observer but very accessible. To me this helps reduce the clutter of stuff in your pockets like keys, change, etc., as the knife is higher up, accessible, yet hidden.
