Prepare as directed & enjoy
Following the directions, we rinsed and soaked these noodles while we prepared the noodle additives. We stir fried all of the vegetables and then made a quick peanut sauce. After removing the hot vegetables from the wok, we added these noodles for a dry fry as outlined on the noodle package. The noodles absorbed the flavors in the wok from the stir fry. Once the noodles were hot, we added back the vegetables, gave the whole thing a toss and turned the hot noodle mixture into a bowl.Lastly, we tossed it all with spice peanut sauce and, well, YUMMY! The noodles didn't break or disintegrated in the hot wok or in the bowl. We'll see how they do on re-heating. The konjac is really filling, so zero calories and we still can't finish a serving. We've tried Miracle Noodles and like them, too. But, we're glad to have another choice in the zero carb zero calorie universe. These noodles are very close to Asian lo mein noodles in terms of consistency and size. By comparison, the Miracle noodles are more like cellophane/rice noodles. Both are good when the directions for preparation are followed. We couldn't believe how good these were for virtually zero calories and zero carbs. Before we cooked them up, we also weighed them. With the shipping water removed, these noodles have a net weight of 12 oz, so there's about 2 ounces of water in the packet. This makes these noodles about half the price of Miracle Noodles. We think that reviewers who have issues with taste and smell might follow directions on the packet. When the noodles are first opened, the smell is pungent. But after soaking and rinsing several times, and then dry frying, they're completely neutral with no bad smell or taste. We're over the moon that we can have high fiber, guilt free lo mein pasta. Yay.

UPDATED: It's like eating rubber bands!
UPDATED: I now know why it was so bad. It looks like some of the product wasn't completely processed. The bag I initially opened (first photo) looked and tasted like rubber bands. The second bag (second photo) was exactly like I hoped for, it tasted and felt like regular Konnyaku noodles. It was very good! The third photo is the manufacturer codes so they know which batch was affected. It seemed like someone in the processing plant forgot to "cook" half of them and just bagged the raw product. 3 bags in my order were like this, so ½ of my order was inedible. It's still a horrible deal since the manufacturer won't let me return the inedible product to get a replacement, so I am keeping my 1 star review. If they reach out to me to give me a replacement, I will change my review.+++++I had such high hopes for this product. I have tried other brands and liked them but this, by far is the worst out of them all. I followed the directions on the package, rinsed them and boiled them for the recommended 5 minutes. Then I tried the noodles... it's like chewing a rubber bands... I couldn't even break it down by chewing them. THEY GOT STUCK IN MY TEETH! I thought maybe boiling it longer would help. NOPE! This time it was harder to chew, if that is even possible. What really stinks is I cannot return it so I wasted the $28 on garbage!Do yourself a favor and don't buy this product!

Good (not great), filling, and SUPER low calorie!
Be aware that you have to run warm water over this in a collander for a couple of minutes to get rid of the fishy smell (smells like it's packed in tuna juice), but once you do, there is no fishy flavor. And be aware that it's a little rubbery, texture-wise. But I LOVE the fact that it can plausibly take the place of pasta at the cost of only 15 calories per serving! So you can eat the whole bag (which is supposedly 3 servings) and still take in fewer calories than even spaghetti squash! I will definitely be eating more of this. I bought a box of them and gave one to a girlfriend who is on a low carb diet, and I plan on making a nice, gooey mac and cheese for my father-in-law, who is diabetic and has to watch his carbs. My husband says it doesn't really taste like pasta, and he's right, but it doesn't really taste like anything. I also bought the fake rice, but haven't tried it yet.

It’s not actually pasta.. so don’t expect it to be haha
I don’t know why so many of the reviews here expect a pasta replacement with basically ZERO carbs to taste and feel exactly like actual pasta.. SO..1) yes the initial smell is a little fishy. I assume most people here read reviews before purchasing and know about the smell.. so my advice.. don’t get all curious, stick your nose in it and take a big whiff.. just dump it into a strainer and rinse it off really well. But honestly, I have never had that initial light fishy smell before it’s cooked effect the flavor of the dish.2) the texture is a bit rubbery and the flavor is bland. I recommend cooking them a bit longer (I’ve done as long as 30 mins) to absorb more flavor. The texture isn’t going to change much, but the good thing about this texture is that it doesn’t really break down and get soggy like regular pasta and leftovers store like a dream. Personally I really don’t mind the texture. I was never a fan of how mushy pasta gets anyway.3) I’m not diabetic, or on any keto diet.. I just genuinely wanted a replacement for higher carb pasta dishes. This stuff takes the cake in my opinion. As long as you are open minded and understand that it isn’t going to be exactly like those $.25 packages of ramen you’re used to, I don’t see how anyone could be disappointed! TRY IT!
