Q: I see the dimensions of the rg6 and rg59 connector are the same (8mm od). this does not seem correct. can you confirm the dimensions?

Correct, but way different in other aspects. Both are 75 Ohm impedance; but RG-6 has significantly less loss because of its outer conductor form. REF: https://sewelldirect.com/learning-center/rg59-or-rg6

Q: Looks like one solid piece. Does the outer larger female end section spin free from the twist-on narrower end?

Yes. Once the "back" end is screwed onto the coax cable, the "front" will screw onto the RF connection same as a crimped connector. Be sure that the cable you're using is a large enough diameter so that the connector can get a tight grip on it. Also I strip about 1/2" outer insulation and wrap the shield back over so that that I screw over the shield wires, too. I used one outside and it pulled out in a strong wind. Using a tie wrap as a strain relief close to the connector is a good idea for outdoor or even indoor use if the cable has strain (or you have cats) in normal use.

Q: Will these screw-on connector work with RG-11 coax?

If that's the old black standard coax from the 80s (or the same size) then yes. It doesn't fit on newer 6 series 18AWG cable, so I'm guessing not, but not 100% sure.

If the end piece of the connector does not spin, then I have to spin the modem in circles to thread it on the end of the cable, right?
