Fisher-Price Octonauts Gup-X & Dashi

My son adores the Octonauts and really enjoys the books, show, & toys. They can be expensive though. This gup is a good price and a lot of fun because it comes apart in 2 pieces. We originally planned to get him a bigger, fancier version of this gup but I’m glad we got this one because he is so happy with it. It’s pretty simplistic - there’s just a smaller gup that goes inside the bigger one. The button on the top doesn’t really work to eject the smaller gup but my son doesn’t seem bothered by it. He also doesn’t care about the little slime shooter. He brings it into the bathtub and basically everywhere. If your kid loves Octonauts and you’re looking to expand your toy collection, this is a great purchase.

Perfect for Octonaut-living kids! Sturdy. My twins play with this almost every day for the last eight months and it’s held up well to their rough play.

Dashy can stay standing bc there is a clip on her foot. The green sword that shoots and the orange crab are tiny extras that seem to get lost often, but the GupX is small and sturdy, the main Gup sinks in the bathtub, but the Skidriver floats.

It's a good size, comes with the coconut crab and Dashi. There are some things I don't like about it. I'm not thrilled that three-year-olds get a projectile, it leads to memories of "you're going to shoot your eye out." The slime dart isn't going to hold up for long, it's already bending and soon will not be functional. The Octo ski that launches off the back doesn't click back into the Gup-x so anytime the Gup is moved the ski falls out. It's also difficult to get the characters to sit in the ski and when they are launched off the Gup-x they always fall out. The product is reasonably priced and doubles as a bath toy. I would definitely get it again, but next time I would open it and remove the slime dart before I gave it to my kid.

I wanted to get different gups for my kid for Christmas, and most of the gups for purchase are bath time compatible. There is another Gup-X that requires batteries and has a lot more to offer, but for the purposes of bath time this fits the bill. He's 4 and LOVES it. His imagination allows him to use the gup like in the show, and he is thrilled to be able to take it into the bath! It doesn't retain much water, and leaving it to drain in the sink for an hour or so allows any excess to drip out so it's ready for dry play on the floor. The launch-able Octo-ski fits all of his other Octonauts and he thinks the slime launcher is awesome! I'm very happy with this purchase and it makes a perfect addition to the other gups. It's on par with the size of the water-compatible gups as well, which is wonderful. I was concerned it was going to be significantly smaller than they are, but was pleasantly surprised to find out otherwise.

My child is a huge Octonaut fan and really enjoys this toy. My child likes to use the detachable cup, to launch the coconut crab that comes in the box. The slime shooter is also fun for my child and she sets out for Octonaut adventures. Fischer-Price keeps doing an amazing job in creating great toys.

Great tub toy as well as free play. 5 year old uses a lot of imagination with this and is quite loud in the tub making up Octonaut adventures of his own. Has just as much fun in the tub as out with this toy which is a plus.

At first I felt this gup was overpriced, but once it arrived I quickly changed my mind. The gup is totally durable, suitable for kid play, and the moving parts are simple to use. Also, I was expecting this to be smaller but it is a really good size.
