Television: Critical Methods and Applications, 4th Edition

Great book for its time, but please tell your instructor that this is a bit outdated for a media class. The many alternatives are equally priced, better, and some are even written by Butler if that pleases them.

This book explains concepts and terms very well and uses plenty of modern examples using shows that we all recognize. Actually a very engaging book and not dreadful like most textbooks.
