Great for me, but I should have got the black one.
This is my first projector, but I think it works great. Brightness is good enough to use in a dimly lit room (eg a living room without direct sunlight in the daytime), and 4K detail looks comparable to my 4K TV at normal viewing distances. Black levels are not absolute but dynamic contrast and cinema setting (ie 50% brightness) mitigate enough that even in a dark room it doesn't bother. HDR performance seems fine but I haven't taxed it too much yet. Android edition comes with a stick that slots away behind the removable grill and pairs to the projector remote. Potentially you could replace it with you preferred streaming device. If too bulky and/or needing mains power it will take up one of the rear inputs unless you plug it into a receiver or something. The speakers are helpful but will only be immersive with a smaller projection size.Like with all similar projectors as far as I could determine, this is not future proofed in that it doesn't have hdmi 2.1/eARC/any of the newer HDR formats. This doesn't bother me as I do suspect the limitations of projection (vs a TV) itself mean hdmi 2.1/hdr10+ etc won't make a perceptible difference. As I understand it ARC means lossless audio doesn't pass but I guess one gets around this by using the video passthrough of your receiver. When I tried doing this by connecting a PC to an LG soundbar the picture was temperamental - switching EDID to normal and then back to extended seems to fix this.By the way, a number of online reviews state the white version is smarter than the black. I fell for this and have to say it's a stupid idea. Black makes much more sense given this is a projector and will be sitting in front of the screen and potentially reflecting light into your field of view.

Blacks are black!!!
The media could not be loaded. Ok I'm as fussy as they come.... 3 weeks researching! In the end I went for the epson ls 500 . The main reason is.... I game! And it works a treat! Ok the reason why I was not too sure on it? I'm a big movie lover... I compare HDR10, black levels and anything else. I had a 91"optoma screen from a previous projector. I watched a few movies on it and thought it was great! I saw that black levels were 50/50 . So I researched the 120" vivid storm. Took a week to arive and...oh my! The blacks are black! Just watched prey on disney and it was fantastic! Interstellar was breathtaking! The greatest showmans colours punched through. If you want a good set-up... the vividstorm is the perfect companion. This along with Sony surround sound set up came in at 4.5 k . But ... its good (if not ...better than the cinema) also 3-D is out if this world. Avatar was a breath of fresh air to watch again.

Very clear, very bright, well worth the money.
I would have given this five stars if it had an audio optical out. But overall I'm very happy with this projector.

Great Projector but very big, very loud and not suitable for the UK
Great Projector with exceptional picture quality and brightness - can easily be used in the day as a TV replacement even just on a white wall. The downsides are that is very big, musch bigger than it looks in the picture and unless you put it on a deep unit it limits the picture size to about 70". It is also very loud in terms of fan noise, if you have had projectors before you will be used to the noise but you'll be surprised if you are coming from a soundless TV.This is the HUGE downside though, it comes with a US Chromecast stick and it is definitely not suitable for the UK, I am assuming it is a US version? If you go to Amazon web services it says 'I see you are travelling, here is a reduced set of what you can watch", in ITV player it says 'you are in the wrong region, bye'. ditto iPlayer and Netflix. The option with the 'TV stick' is super expensive too. I am not sure if it is a stick problem, a projector problem, or a combo of the two. You can really see the two systems are only loosely working together. This means the combo, while the picture is outstanding, the overall experience is lacking - I sent mine back.

Additional information for those who love 3 D movies
I don’t understand the logic behind not supplying a pair of 3D glasses along with this expensive projector.I am an ardent devotee of 3D movies and so I had to work out which 3D glasses are compatible with this projector from a sea of different 3D glasses. The ones for my Samsung 3D TV or my BENQ projector didn’t work for this. Finally I fished out the manual for this projector ( EH-LS500B) online which suggested that I use “ glasses with an active shutter system that supports radio waves (RF/Bluetooth) “ and finally I found them on amazon. They are the ***Sintron 3D Active Shutter Glasses Rechargeable ST07-BT For RF/Bluetooth*** you get a compatible message on the screen and voila ! enjoy !
