How does one rate poetry? It's a difficult question, as everyone sees poetry differently. For me, things like 2 and 4 stars don't exist. These poems I did enjoy very much, hence the 5 stars. It's always either/or for me.This poet paints beautiful pictures. I particularly enjoyed some imagery very much and how it can paint emotions. This is a collection around life experiences, and from what can be read of the author's life here in her bio, they are very personal experiences indeed. That makes some of the words feel very raw.This is not my usual type of poetry; I more often prefer the fantastical (read: what doesn't exist or exists only in dreams and fantasy worlds), but any poetry that can move me, is good poetry. I love some of the word choices here, and here I'm taken on a journey from childhood to adulthood with its real struggles.These are not poems to transfer you to a blissful world without worry; they are there to tether you to reality with all its ugliness... but also as a testament of what strength an individual can be capable. Read this author's bio before you read the poems; that way you'll understand their full meaning and they'll gain more meaning.

I was a fan of Rachael DK’s poetry, which I kept up with on her website, so I was both shocked and thrilled when she announced she was putting her bewitching works into print! I purchased the hardcover. This debut collection of poetic works, titled BLISSFUL ESCAPE ARTIST, is soul-baring as much as a mirror of her moods—a tight blend of romance, victory, and mysticism with just a tinge of justified venom.Anyone who has broken free, or had to discover themselves, should particularly connect with her work and find inspiration. She has a way of saying so much with such few words, but I particularly love her verbose poems (VIXEN, AMBER, CONFESSIONS TO THE MOON) where she reveals the depths of her gifted mind more generously.

Rachael writes very thought provoking, intensely beautiful poetry. From her different poems you can sense she's been through a lot in her life, but that she's come out from it a stronger woman, secure in who she is. If you are a fan of reading or writing poetry then I recommend her short book of poetry.

This book is a phoenix, highly recommended for those who have rebuilt from the ashes, for any who have withstood their own personal renaissance.

After reading through the wonderful poetry in this collection, it's easy to see the author put their heart and soul into this. The words flow smoothly and make you think and feel something deep down, exactly what good poetry and writing should do. I'll be recommending this to a few friends.

I’m not a big poetry reader. I am impressed by the depth and emotion in these well placed and metered words. Loved the formatting and the photos! Was enjoyable to read a poem or two after lunch each day. Savored and deliberately enjoyed piece by piece.

While I'm personally not hugely into poetry, Rachael DK has a way with words that easily draws you in and touches you in unexpected ways. Her poems are inspired by her life and those around her, drawing upon nature and life experiences plus dreams and fantasies that many of us can relate to. Blissful Escape Artists is filled with vibrantly colorful images to accompany her words and flipping through her book is both an experience and a journey as you sit and read through each poem, enjoying them one at a time.

Love the depth to the struggle and the words that hit my soul. There is a connection to my life and feelings and the elegant way we are as humans.
