Understanding and Guidance
This book was extremely needed to help me understand the Trinity’s roll in a time of my life of much uncertainty. My faith is being restored and that is a glorious joy in the midst of intense trials.

God wants to talk with us. Here is the way to learn to listen.
As I read through his work I came to understand why so many modern works quote him and refer to him. He clearly lays it out that the God and Father of Jesus Christ is deeply interested in our lives and wants to be a part of them every day. He lay out what we can do in learning to actually converse with God - not just to know our side of the conversation but to also learn how to hear His side of it. Great book!

Needs editing
Lots of treasures to learn, but at times it is very difficult to understand what is supposed to have been written. Spelling errors abound and sometimes sentences don't make sense. The book is desperately need of editing. Such a pity. If the book had been properly edited I would have given it a 5 rating.

I think Dallas Willard's book "Hearing God" was better for practical advice on hearing guidance
Thoughtful book. Updated grammar used is helpful since it was written in the late 1800's. I think Dallas Willard's book "Hearing God" was better for practical advice on hearing guidance. But both books add valuable insight.

Great Book for all.
I am not familiar with Dallas Willard's book as one reviewer wrote, however, I cannot imagine a book better than this one. One thing is that the writers of the 1800's had better spiritual insight than those of today overall. Another good book is "Does God Still Guide?" by Sidlow Baxter. I still favor this one. We like to give it to young people who are graduating and interested in knowing God's will. This book shares some common principles with George Muller's pamphlet on guidance. I highly recommend this book

Helpful
F.B.Meyer does a fantastic work on Bible characters, indeed all of his works (that I've read) are worth your time. This however is a departure being a 'topic' rather than a biography. It was the title that drew me in and indeed the early chapters are very helpful on the subject of 'God's will'. Meyer makes a lot of sense in his conclusions: Our motives must be pure and free of self, we should be prayerful and wait on God's timing, we should have a knowledge of the Bible and look to the lives in the historical record as well as the principles the Bible contains. He also offers some good common sense, God gave you the ability to think, so use your brain!Unfortunately, the book does not stick with the subject matter and vears off on a tangent to unrelated matters, some of the discussion relates to a different time. However, the early chapters are excellent and reflect the confidence I have in Meyer as a solid Bible teacher.

Thought provoking, but nobody proof read this ebook!
This was a thought-provoking read, spoilt only by the fact that it was quite clear this book had not been proof read in production, but just quickly scanned or dictated to produce an ebook. There were some incomplete words, misspelt words, and a few sentences that you had to try to work out what the original must have said. It was, to be fair, a very inexpensive purchase, but I'd have happily paid a bit extra to have had a book I felt had had a little more care in its production.

Booklet - not BOOK.
Nothing wrong with the "Book" which should be described as a booklet. A lot of money for such a small publication. The writing itself is very good.

Meyer is a teacher.
I recommend this book to anyone who wants to know more about walking with God. There are some wonderful teachings in the book. The language could do with updating and there are numerous typographical errors which are annoying.
