Reliable introduction and companion to economic growth literature
This test is probably the only reliable way for a non-economist to get introduced to modern economic growth theory. The explanations are clear, the progression logical, and the authors impose a standard notation that ties together a wide range of growth theories. You will need some math - perhaps even more than is covered in the brief appendix - to get full benefit from the book, but that's because a lot of the value comes from using the book as a home base for excursions into the actual studies and controversies covered in the text.I return to this volume repeatedly, and always learn something It's both an introduction and a reliable companion to the complex literature surrounding the subject of economic growth.

An Economist who can write well! Grab it!
This text is intended for undergrads and I'm a grad student, currently using Romer's Advanced Macroeconomics. That text isn't as dense as most others of graduate level, but I'm using this text as a base because Dr. Jones writes MUCH more clearly than the average text-book authoring economist. I wish he'd write graduate level texts. Too bad he's in CA. I'd love to sit in in one of his seminars because if he lectures the way he writes, it would be a fabulous, CLEAR experience.

Excellent book about the economic growth theory.
This is a excellent book about the economic growth theory. I've read excellent books as "Economic Growth" by R. Barro, "Advanced Macroeconomics" by David Romer and "Endogenous Growth Theory" by Philippe Aghion, the principal problem is the level, if you don't have notions about economic growth theory, you'll have problems to understand. Charles I. Jones wrote a excellent introduction about all the modern economic growth theory. I recommend this book amply.

Great book
Same book as newer edition. It does not have updated graphs and some questions are not in same order but the content of the book is still the same. Good material.
