The clasp on the leash I had been using randomly opened on 3 different walks I was on with my dog. I couldn't figure out what was causing it to open up and started to get paranoid every time I was outside with my dog. The carabiner clip and lock on this leash give me peace of mind that my dog is not going to become detached from his leash. The leash itself is great too, it is a little wider than my previous leather leash and feels great in my hand. I waited to order this for a while but I am so glad I finally did. This leash is great! Soft to handle and the carabiner actually locks so it is very secure. I just bought another to have as a backup in case we lose or leave it somewhere by accident. I looked for a long time and tried many but this one was the best!

I have a new puppy weighing about 30 plus pounds and had 3 other leashes come undone from her while walking due to faulty clasps. The last thing you expect is for your dogs leash to fail. I’ve had dogs for 30+ years and never experienced this before, but the last thing you want is your puppy or any dog getting loose especially in traffic or by busy streets. This leash is the best one I’ve found. Sturdy not slick slippery leather and a good secure clasp that won’t come undone. I highly recommend this leash.

The lead stretches way to much ! I'm afraid with a 65 pounf Doberman pullin on it , it will break , not saying anything what my 90 pound male would do to it , I do like the locking latch on it , min reason I brought it, but the strap is poor

This is a sturdy leash with a locking carabiner clasp. My dog likes to roll in the grass and has undone two different regular clasp leashes. I thought it might be heavy because it’s leather but it’s not!

When I got the leash I thought “wow this is a really attractive leash” and it is! BUT most importantly I sent my dog to a certified trainer and this is the leash she told me to get.

Locking connection is perfect for my reactive, spinner of a Pit mix. Leash has slight give @ is comfortable wrapped around my hand so when she pulls or lunges my grip improves. Got it because she’s a leash, collate escape artist & it’s perfect. Now the only leash I use.

Soft leather with the sturdy carabiner. I've finally found one leash that doesn't burn my hand when my 75lb German Shepherd attempts to pull. He is a big puppy and likes chasing rabbit and squirrels. A highly recommended product!

I have a big dog that's still a bit of a puller, so I was concerned that this lead might not be up to the task (when I ordered). The thickness of and width of the leather are better than I expected...and it feels durable with just a tiny bit of "spring". I'm sure it'll soften with time, since it'll last forever if I keep it oiled. The stitching and rivets are well installed...the length is great for a casual walk, the clip is light weight and secure. I really can't fault it in any way. For those who say it's shorter than advertised; it's leather so it contracts as it dries without being loaded. NOTE: If you allow your dog to chew on their lead or if you use it in water often, then you do NOT want this lead. Go for nylon webbing or see if Kong makes leads, instead.

I've bought this lead before for my American Akita,my dog has pulled, bitten, grabbed this lead for over 2 years and the damage he has been able to do is only superficial and has remained strong. The length is great enough to give him a little bit of freedom if needed. I've bought a second one as a back up in case I ever need it a few years down the line. Overall very impressed with this lead.
