Works very well
Easy to install and pair Bluetooth. Installed with optical audio. Normally when I listen to TV some of the words are clipped off and I miss what is being said. The words are very clear with the VitaSound. Best sound is with HDTV sound turned to 0 and use the earplugs with the VitaSound unit. Have not tried this with others in the room yet. The sound was amazingly clear with the iPhone. Seemed to work well in talk mode but to bulky to replace a real hearing aid. Well constructed and I highly recommend the unit.

A quality device with limitations
It is obviously a well-made and well-thought-out product, but here's the problem: although the manual is pretty much comprehensible, getting this thing to pull sound out of a TV and then wirelessly send it to the earbuds proved to be almost impossible. In the end I had to use the analog (red & white) leads and hook them up to the cable box - which means that only programming that originates with cable TV is delivered through the device. Well, I'd like it to feed all the sound which relates to the TV, but none of the analog ports from the TV produced sound in these earbuds. So, for example, when I'm streaming something and the sound does come from the TV it still doesn't feed this device. Believe me, I tried all the plugs. If anyone can tell me why this is and what to do about it I would greatly appreciate the guidance. Furthermore, the extra functions that this hearing enhancer offers are pretty much not on my list of needs - but there they are and I have to pay for them too. Why doesn't this company make a device that is specifically for TV sound, and then explain that it is not going to work except when hooked up to the cable box. Lastly, the earbuds that came with it are supposed to be mute-able, but that does not work. So I have to listen to the ads or take the buds out of my ears. Something very GOOD about this device is that I can walk away from the TV and around the corner and work in the kitchen and the sound from the TV comes with me. This is unique among the devices of this kind that I have reviewed.

Tinitus not solved by adding sound
The output of the PAE-300G did not counter the sound produced by my Tinitus. It worked OK as an amplifier.

poor sound. Also
Not to my expectations, poor sound. Also, could not get in touch with Vitasound either by email or by phone. Therefore I returned the product.

definitely helpful
I am not hard of hearing, so I can't speak to the usefulness of this device for those folks, but this device worked well in all the areas in which I tried it out.I wore it around a grocery store and out in the woods, and found that it gave me considerable control over volume and assisted in hearing certain things. In the store, I could easily get it loud enough to be uncomfortable, and could hear softer sounds amplified with greater clarity. The use of some form(s) of sound processing was obvious, and anyone used to the "breathing" of poorly adjusted audio compression will know what I mean.Again, not being impaired (I actually test about 10db better than average for my age, except at one narrow frequency band, despite years of loud music and guitar playing in my youth), the effects were more annoying than useful to me, but I can easily see that this could be quite handy for people with certain kinds of hearing problems. The processing did seem able to help separate near field conversation from background noise, especially in the woods. As a wireless headset for media playback, I was quite pleased with the quality of the sound. The included earbuds were comfortable (different sized fittings for the earbuds are included), and the sound quality quite good for this kind of headset. (I have been spoiled by recording studio quality headsets, and Koss Pro4AAs were my headset of choice even for casual listening for a long time.)The earbuds provided quite good sound, and I watched many, many hours of video from YouTube and Amazon without fatigue or discomfort. It was nice to wander around the living room and even the kitchen without losing any audio quality or volume.I had no problems with signal or linking (the wireless is Bluetooth), and connections to the bas unit were easy and clear.I could get quite used to this system. If you are in the market for something to use for wireless audio and audio assistance in conversation or public places, I would definitely give this a shot. I think it could be very useful.

Not for arthritic hands
Sound quality OK, but setup is not easy. Transmitter & receiver must be reset each time they are turned on, which is annoying. Switching between modes (TV, ordinary speech, etc). requires manipulating very small controls, which is hard to do when you have arthritis. Headphones are uncomfortable, although you can use the unit with different ones, if the other problems are not an issue for you. A much better idea, for TV only, is a wireless transmitter and remote speaker .
