I won't but this any longer. My house has become over run with what they call pantry moths. They start out as larvae and then you have all these tiny moths. Then they reproduce and the cycle continues. It gets out of control. So never again I won't purchase this. I've had to buy stuff to get rid of these pests.

Both my sun conure and quaker parrot love this stuff. They give all talons up!

My Amazon Parrot loves this food. I did not even have to graduate him from his previous food to this food. They are much the same content but this has more larger pieces in it.

I've used Vitakraft Sunseed for many years. Since they've repackaged and reformulated their standard food, I'm now having to use this not-so-Smart Mix. I don't mind the almonds, but hazelnuts (filberts)? Parrots can't crack those so they wind up being thrown out. It's sad to include those since I would imagine the birds might think they're getting a treat. It's nothing but weighty waste and filler for anything except macaws and maybe some cockatoos. Otherwise, I like the new packaging in the 7 lb. size. Sunseed has always been fresh, so will continue to buy. The ingredients are mostly good. I don't see much waste except for the uncrackables.

All 3 of my birds like this mix. It's a good mix. And the price is great! My birds waste less of this than the more expensive stuff.

Not a healthy food for companion pet birds- terrible mix with massive amounts of sunflower seeds which cause liver problems & also peanuts in shell which can cause asperagilas ...do not purchase !!

Not a good brand to buy for larger birds. I have an Amazon Parrot and most of it would be wasted if I didn't have chickens to feed it to. I don't recommend this for anything bigger that a cockatiel.

They used to offer a healthier option without sunflower seeds. This bag is loaded with sunflower seeds and moldy peanuts.
