Water Leak Detector with Two Probes and Low Db Alarm Indicates Leak Location MADE IN USA. Use this twin probe moisture sensor by Dynaquip Controls with the WaterCop (not included): protect two water using appliances like a water heater and a washing machine with the same water alarm . This twin probe water sensor by DynaQuip uses 2 AA batteries or an optional AC adapter. Water sensor alarm intensity is similar to a watch alarm or a pager beep . Alarms when either probe detects moisture or water. Water alarm also transmits a radio signal to the Watercop automatic water valve actuator (if installed) and shuts the valve to turn off water. Note: Safe Homes does not recommend using this unit as a local stand-alone alarm as it is not loud. It is meant to work with the Water Cop unit. One twin probe water alarm protects two adjacent water using appliances. Monitor specific leak prone areas within the home for unwanted and potentially damaging water accumulation of internal flooding. Moisturesensor alarms feature a robust 418MHz radio transmitter chipset with up to a 200 foot operating range. User adjustable digital security codes. Operate on either two (2) AA batteries or an optional AC power adapter. Note: Current configuration does NOT allow for batteries to back up AC Adapter. Low battery warning chirp. Each probe has 6 foot sensor cord. Twin Probe Sensor perfect for under two adjacent units (ex. washer and water heater).

You bet your ass I do!!! even had we been home sleeping it would of been just as bad a mess not to mention I would be dealing with this before going to work or something so do yourselves a favor order this and get piece of mind had we called Stanley steamer it would of been close to a grand !!! I'm an engineer and WaterCop seemed best to me
If you do research you'll see that water damage occurs often and leaks can be very expensive. I'm surprised more people don't worry about it. I researched systems to prevent residential water damage due to leaking pipes. I'm an engineer and WaterCop seemed best to me. These units aren't fancy. The water simply completes the circuit, the alarm sounds and then a shutoff signal is sent to your water actuator/value. What I liked - no computers to mess things up when you most need them, good build quality on the water actuator/ valve, it's a mature system - not a buggy v1. Most DYI folks can install everything except the water valve. Get a professional plumber to install the water valve/ actuator. You don't want to create a mess trying to avoid a mess! As for the sensors, they only work if you put them in the right place. You should pour water from the source of the leak and see where it goes. It is entirely possible to put these near the source and have the water flow away from the units. It's not rock science but you need to test where the water flows. I've been disappointed in the build quality of the optional power adapters. It's 50/50% whether they make a connection. The batteries work well. I test the units periodically and the system works. The unit has already paid off - our washing machine line got a leak and the system shutoff our supply line.

Replacement for a Failed Unit
This is a replacement for a unit that lasted 7 years ... a little soon for electronic equipment to fail. But the system works fine.

Pricey, but Worth It.
One of mine broke after several years. And, it's hard to even find these for sale at many places, so the pricing is understandable. This one has 2 sensors which helps because I replaced 2 of them in the kitchen where I have one sensor under the sink, and one under the dishwasher. Easy to set the frequency code with bit switches. I was wondering about that part before buying since it has been a long time since I bought my original Water Cop system. This has saved me 2-3 times from a flood. Once under the kitchen sink where one of those compression steel braided hoses came apart at the nut, and another time under a bathroom sink. Alarms do nothing if no one is home to hear it.Water Cop originally cost me several hundred dollars, but well worth never getting mold and mildew in the drywall, cupboards, etc. that is so costly to completely eradicate. And since homeowners insurance almost never covers mildew, this saves from situations of water leaks.I have them at all water sources, including near water heater, water softener, all sinks, toilets, washing machine, dishwasher, etc.

These sensors give me such peace of mind. I ...
These sensors give me such peace of mind. I am a contractor and I do all manner of home repairs. The one repair I seem to do a lot of is usually caused from water damage. I had one customer who left for work in the morning with the washing machine on, and when she returned that night, she walked in to water streaming down the walls and pooling on her hardwood floors! With the WaterCop system, the first sign of a water leak and the main supply would be cut off. Certainly worth the investment in my mind. I have WaterCop sensors all over my house.
