PETZL, Swift RL Rechargeable Headlamp with 900 Lumens & Automatic Brightness Adjustment

This is a great headlamp when I'm out in the dark with the cougars and other beasts lurking around the bend. I have really great visibility.I enjoy how easy it is to adjust up and down depending if I'm running uphill, down, or flat.The battery life is amazing. I never need to use the brightest setting, but I do right at twilight and I'll explain why below.The reactive lighting is a bit of a sham. It totally works, but part of the reason the battery life is so long in reactive mode is because it doesn't use the focused beam. Standard mode uses both.When I run, I used the middle of the three settings in standard mode so that the focus beam is enabled. I've run in that mode for 90 mins and only used 20% of the battery. Right at twilight when I can see ok w/o the headlamp, but not quite enough, I like to switch to the highest setting in reactive mode. It gives me just the right amount of light to enhance my view and when I'm going in and out of trees, it brightens when I need it.It wears well, isn't too heavy, and adjusts easily. Easy 5 stars. Very happy I purchased it.Note: I haven't run for more than a few hours in the dark, so I haven't pushed this to its limit. If you're looking for an 8 hour lamp, hopefully others have reviews on that. Good luck!

I have used MANY headlamps, and actually own several different PETZL lamps. This one is by far superior to the rest (except maybe my battery pack one). The brightness is unmatched and I really needed the brightness for my trail runs. It shows FAR and CLEAR! I won't be getting rid of my other PETZL lamps but this will be my go to for nearly everything. I love that it is rechargeable. I am soooo tired of the old school battery replacing and if you don't use for awhile then the batteries explode or leak. I have not been able to test the battery life yet as my runs have been about 1-2 hrs and the light has been strong entire time so I haven't pushed that limit yet. I like the fading in and out depending on seeing near or far. Love love love it

I researched many headlamps for use in the jungle of Panama and Costa Rica. I have purchased several different headlamps in the past with mixed reviews but I always return to Petzl. They are high quality, good adjustability of the lamp, rugged and long battery life. I really appreciate the comfortable fit and light weight. The adjustable lumens is very important to me as I am observing nocturnal animals and I don't like to attract too many insects, which loved the brighter lights. I highly recommend this light for lite hiking and long stays in the jungle

This is my third Petzl headlamp. I love them and this one is no different. You can adjust the headband with one hand. The auto level light is great and accurately adjusts. You can override the auto light to medium and bright. Very long battery life. The only negative is there is no night lamp (red lamp).

This headlamp is good for biking, running, hiking, and auto work. It's not great for camping. The lowest setting is blinding in a tent at night and you have to click through all the brightness settings to turn it off.Battery life is okay, but because there are only 3 brightness settings, when out mountain biking, you have to use the brightest one, but then only get an hour or so of burn time.

I have been using lamp hard for over 2 years and have a back up in a drawer. As a restoration specialist, working in crawl spaces, attics and other un-lit areas I have been through a dozen head lamps. This is the best by far.

It's winter. Sundown is 5pm. I like to walk my pup several times/day. These make it easy. This past Sunday I arrived home from grocery shopping and realized my right hearing aid wasnt in my ear.I grabbed my headlight and returned to the supermarket parking lot. Sure enough, after a 15 minute search in a very parking, there it was. I also use these for outside chores, Taking the trash out. I used it to climate mountain for 8 hours, then came back home to use it in my backyard to catch bugs, it still light up.I just explain it a little bit, I did not open it for all 8 hours, when there was light around me, for saving energy I closed it for a while, but I had to open it nearly all the time, that is amazing product. It is trustful for your adventure. I actually bought two of these, they all worked great! Thanks for helping me during the hard time, especially when I nearly got lost in the mountain.
