Great little car. Sturdy and easy to handle the controller.
Great little car. However, the only problem I have with it is one has to unscrew the battery cover everytime it needs charging get to the lead. I have left it dangling out but I am slightly worried the water/dirt etc. will ruin the connection. And I feel that the full lock on the steering could be a little 'tighter' more degrees to get round tight corners. But that's not really an issue.

Better than I expected to be honest!
The media could not be loaded. So, I got this for my 4 year old son, who's been scooting a lightning mcqueen toy round inside the house for a while now, and is now more interested in taking it outside; enter this model. It's pretty big for a toy, the picture shows it next to my 1/18 Ftx colt. It's quite light, as you'd expect as it's a kids toy rather than an entry level rc car. The front bumper does a good job of preventing too much damage when it's sent steaming into a wall or something. In fact, despite the fact it feels a bit flimsy, it seems to take knocks and bashes very well. The only thing I did notice is the battery cover came off, but only a couple of times. I hadn't bothered putting the securing screw back in, as it feels like it just clips tightly in place without it, but may put it back in of it my boy keeps stacking it!Remote handset was a concern, as the steering wheel feels very wobbly straight out the box, howveryits survived its first outing, so maybe it feels worse than it is.Also bearing in mind this is a kids toy, the handset is pretty big, and feels the same (size wise, quality) as my one.... and I have big hands. My lad is pretty big and has big hands for his age, and whilst he can pull the trigger to accelerate, he can't push it forward with his same left hand to reverse. He has to take his right hand off the wheel to help out.Probably worth pointing out that this car has, as I would imagine most other toys at this price point, no variable controls. Ie: its either forward or backward full speed, and steering is not graduated, again its a wheel that just activates 2 switches, so steering is either full lock left or right. As I said, to be expected for what it is.Read lots of grumbling about the battery. I don't know what type it is, as there's no markings, however what I will say is it lasts ages and only takes about 2 hours to charge. Bearing in mind this got opened and started being used at about 2:30pm, hasn't really been put down for any great length of time and it's now 4:30, and still has no signs of running out of juice. So I'm very impressed to be fair. My Ftx (which is 4wd and has a much more powerful motor of course, as well as more power hungry electrics) only lasts about 30 mins. It's also fairly rapid for a kids toy, so you'll need a big room if you're planning on using it indoors. As you'd expect, it's quicker on smooth surfaces outside such as tarmac or pavements, but it's also got enough grunt to whizz around lawn, gravel, etc without too much trouble and at a respectable pace. We've been jumping it off kerbs and decking (about the same kind of height) with no trouble at all.All in all, without having had it more than an afternoon, I think it's pretty good for the money. Battery has great life, it seems to be able to take punishment only child drivers can dish out, and looks pretty cool too.I'd recommend it.

Nice!
Awesome that it comes with two rechargeable batteries and never have to wait for it recharge before using it. Just swap out the batteries! The remote takes two AA batteries (I use my own rechargeable batteries so they can be swapped out easily too). Its a rugged toy that has good speed and goes over bumps and small obstacles easily. Has movement forward, backward, left, and right. Remote can be a little tricky to get used to but once you learn how to control it, it really is a fun RC car!

Fiddly, fast and plastic
My son, who is 8 loves the car...! It gets up quite a speed and when hurtling along with a twist to the steering it does a pretty impressive handbrake turn. The car is powered by rechargeable batteries and that’s where the fun ends for me. There is no port on the outside of the car to plug it in to recharge instead every time it needs charging the fiddly process of undoing the tiny screw and disconnecting the battery pack from a smaller and equally fiddly connection to repeat to connect it to the charger begins. Once charged (we gave up waiting for a full charge assuming there would be a change in the flashing light that accompanies charging) after about 30 mins...juice enough to get the car going again but not before I had repeated the reattachment of the battery pack tiny screw included. (How long to we lose that I don’t know or am I repeating myself.).The car for me is disappointingly made of a flexible plastic...it looks like it won’t last but only time will tell and not even the tiniest flicker of disappointment on my sons face so who am I to judge.FiddlyCheap looking plasticFastDramatic handbrake turnsWhining engine noiseI’m not the end user. The end user loves it. Me...not so much!

Don't buy this product
Car is meant to come with a 7.4v Li-Ion Battery. It ACTUALLY comes with 4.8v Ni-Cd battery and cheap/nasty USB charger. Documentation confirms it should be a 7.4v Li-Ion. Thankfully I happened to have a spare battery of the correct type. With my battery, the car performs as expected, without it, the battery it came with didn't last as long as it should of (even being realistic about the claimed "play time") and the car itself was sluggish.I'd have returned the thing, if my son had yet to play with it - but that was when I noticed it wasn't as fast as I thought it should be. Now the only way to get the correct part is to return the whole thing. Which I'd do, but would mean I'd have to take it off my son. No win situation.

Our 5 year old loves it.
Bought this for our 5 year old. He got to grips with the control really quickly and loves it. It's pretty fast and although the outer body seems to be like only flimsy plastic, it seems to cope well with a bit of rough and tumble. The only complaint is that it is a bit fiddly to recharge the battery on the car but we would definitely buy again.
