First off, let me say that I'm on a quest to find the perfect mix of comfortable, good looking, and stylish. That seems to be an order too tall for the men's clothing industry. I can look good, and be uncomfortable. I can be comfortable but look like I'm out to dinner wearing gym shorts. That is, until I found these shorts.So, if I love the shorts so much, why only four-stars? Well, in order to get two pairs that fit correctly I had to order three pairs and swap one pair out. They seem to have a Quality Control issue, but I'm willing to be patient and just send them back when my 34's fit like 32's.So, with that out of the way, here are the good points:1) The material is super light and breathes well.2) The material is stretchy and doesn't bind up when you squat, bend over, etc.3) The colors and cut are very flattering. I never feel like I'm wearing old man shorts pulled up to my armpits, and They are neither too short nor too long. I like something that hits a couple inches above the knee (I'm 5'10") and doesn't feel like I'm wearing capri pants.4) The waistband is also nice and soft, so it doesn't cut into me if I've been wearing it all day.5) I suppose they are quick dry. Honestly I haven't tested it all out. The fabric darkens a bit when they get wet (splashed myself with water while washing my hands and had that whole "Did this guy pee himself?" anxiety going on) but it seems to go away quickly. At the same time, I didn't have any embarrassing sweat marks after wearing them outdoors, and sweating quite a bit, on a hot summer day.For now, this is my go-to short. I've got two pairs and soon I'll have a couple more. Just remember to be patient and return them when they don't fit right. Next shipment will likely fit you as it should!

These shorts are great for what I bought them for, which is wearing them as shorts all day but prepared just in case I plan to get wet. Not great for swimming since the waist band is not elastic and no drawstring to keep them on. I bought the khaki color and they are completely see through when they get wet since there is no liner, I have to wear something underneath them. They are quick drying. They are very comfortable to wear as regular shorts. They stretch nicely and and very thin and light. I wear a 32 waste regularly. I think these run a little larger. They still fit fine with a belt on. The waistband is not elastic, so if I go swimming and take my belt of they do not stay up well. I would recommend buying a waist size smaller than normal shorts so they stay on without a belt. They are also quite a bit longer than I expected them to be. I am 6'1" and they come down to my knees. Excellent fit, good quality stitching, and THE MOST EASILY STAINED FABRIC I'VE EVER SEEN. The stain shown was from getting a little bit of soapy water on them while doing dishes. I bought two pairs and now have similar stains on both. For the $$ price I'm very disappointed. I guess I might try dying them or something.Edit: Updated review from 3 stars (in hopes that some extreme cleaning solution might work) to 1 star. Nothing I've done (including hand washing with both laundry and dish detergent, Spray n Wash, and bleaching) has been able to get the stain out, so they were effectively useless after 1 wear. This was after getting a little bit of SOAPY WATER on them. Ridiculous.

I searched a long time to find ideal shorts for exercising & working at home. I noticed my board shorts were the most comfortable but was getting very tired of the Velcro fly & drawstrings. Hybrid shorts are the perfect solution! They are cut & sewn like regular casual shorts with pockets, zipper etc. But made from stretchy swim trunk material.I like everything about these shorts. Although they aren't name brand they are class & very well made. I just had snip a few long threads but that's normal with most new garments. Light weight, perfect medium stretch, & super comfy.

From a previous purchase of a pair of hybrid shorts, I learned that Burnside runs a tad large in the waist. A good size for me is a 37" waist but no casual pants or shorts come in an odd size so, I usually order a 38" in most shorts. In Burnside, 38" waist is too big so this time I ordered a size 36" waist and they fit just fine.By the way, the shorts are nothing like the picture and are far nicer-looking in reality.

I love the fabric. It’s soft and cool yet doesn’t look like swimwear. I bought 3 colors...tan, blue, and grey. The material feel is different on all 3. Tan is thicker, then grey and blue is lightest. Fit is all the same. I have 34 inch waist and it’s spot on. The cut is fitted so the leg opening is not huge. Comes to just above the knee if you have 32’ inseam.Overall I love the material, fit, and style of these shorts. Highly recommended.

My husband is 6’1, 170lbs and usually wears a 32 waist. I bought the 34s instead, thinking they might be too snug. They were much too large, I should have stuck with his regular size. There’s no drawstring, so there’s no option to tighten them. You could wear a belt, but that would only help on land, not in the sea.

I love these shorts. I can wear them in the ocean and within minutes of a light pat with a towel and some sunlight, I'm dry. These are very breezy, lightweight shorts. Would even be good for gold on our really hot Texas days.
