Sagmeister: Made You Look
N**A
The greatest graphic designer of the late 20th century!
Maybe a year ago i got my hands into his second book, so i was eager to meet the designer behind the ideas, so i finally got this second print of his first book, MAKE YOU LOOK. I was beyond amaze, the book comes in a red case, just take it out and BOOM! first impression, you'll be mesmerize, then you try to open the book and BAM! second impression, this book is full of surprises! The good thing about this second edition is the messages that Stefan Sagmeister wrote as a quote on every page, about his own book! He is truly one of the greatest graphic designers of all times.

For More Than Just Designers
I'm not a designer and I only found out about Sagmeister through the TED talk he gave about his year 7th year sabbatical. His name keeps popping up again and again on the internet, and he is a really interesting character, so I took a chance on a book I wouldn't normally buy, since it's kind of expensive for what I usually pay, and I have never bought a design book before. But I'm glad I did. I've had so much fun going through the book. I've never interacted with a book in so many ways, visual puns, flip books, indexes that are actually FUN to read. Inspired. It's a book I'm proud to own.

This book is really cool.
I bought this book for a class, in which we had to design a website about a designer or an artist. But, we had to buy a book by said person. A lot of people I had in mind didn't have books, so I looked up books by designers, and this was on a lot of lists, and after reading reviews, I decided to buy it. I'm not disappointed. At all. This is a book that I'd actually read for non-class reasons. And the design of the book is really awesome.

A wonderful book with a fragile case
This is my favorite book, I've read it cover to cover multiple times. This monograph has given me back ten times over and I can't say enough good things about its story. Its an amazing journey that in my mind I still cannot comprehend would happen to someone, but it did and we as readers get to see the behind the scenes of famous designs. However this review is for Amazon's version of it, I ordered my copy and it arrived with a cracked red case. If you are someone who loves this book as well, I would much rather buy it from a local store if they carry it. I think the casing is really fragile, therefore if you are considering buying this from Amazon, expect that there could be quality issues. The content is 5/5 but I had to rate this a 4/5 because of the case issue.

Book is amazing, completely fun and great to read
Book is amazing, completely fun and great to read. Highly recommended for all graphic designers. Now, on the way the product was handled is another story. Arrived yesterday and everything seemed fine in the bag it came in but once I took off it's seal, I realized the book cover was broken. I wouldn't have an issue if the cover was actually part of what makes this book unique. Quite disappointing really.

Broken cover
So disappointing. I should’ve read the reviews before purchasing. Yours will most likely arrive damaged.

This is a masterpiece
Sagmeister is mentioned in every graphic art textbook I have ever read, and there is a reason for this: His endeavors see no boundaries and he continues to learn from his accomplishments, as well as from his mistakes. His work is incredibly honest. He lays his soul bare. And his branding ideas make a lot of money, so his workflow is not just theoretical, it is applicable in the real world.

Needs Fragile Shipping
In concept the book lining is very cool, and as you will read, reflective of his earlier work. However, if you are a stickler for the details. The plastic material it is made of has proven to be difficult to ship. I have attempted to ship this book twice. In both attempts, the cover was cracked/ damaged. A minor detail, but it is a major feature to this book and I want it to last and to not be held together with tape and glue. Maybe it is Sagmiester's vision for the cover, maybe it is UPS package handling, maybe it is just cheap plastic... either way, I recommend this books content. Buyer beware of the hazards involved with shipping it.

Excelente libro
Todo bien, solo que la advertencia sobre la ruptura del empaque es cierta. es muy fragil y me llegó con una esquina rota.Por todo lo demás perfecto

Ordered this book twice, both issues damaged!
The content of this book is fine, nothing great, but shows off the skills of a queality graphic designer. The real issue is the book itself, I was forced to order this book twice and both copies had smashed up slipcases, and one copy came covered in oil, which stained the pages of that copy. Tried to return both books but apparently Amazon never got return so I was lumped with paying for both issues. Pretty pissed off and a total waste of money and time, not Amazon's finest moment!!

Super libro!

A wonderful and inspiring book
I am not the worlds biggest fan of Stefan Sagmeister. As with all aspects of art and design it all comes down to personal tastes and mine don't quite line up with Mr Sagmeister's. That being said this is an excellent book as the man himself and his range of ideas is fascinating.Stefan Sagmeister is pretty much guaranteed to come up with something incredibly creative and imaginative for every brief he is given. He doesn't do anything by half measures and this book is no different. It is packed with his most iconic work as well as a great deal of his own personal story and both aspects are truly interesting. What really inspires me though is his thought process and the amount of effort he puts into every design. It is truly inspiring and he is deserving of the fame that he has built for that alone. The book itself is wonderfully produced, the paper is of good stock and the book is certainly unique.Overall this is a wonderful book that is worth the price tag and will take pride of place on the Design shelf of my book case.
