Book2 English - Bosnian For Beginners: A Book In 2 Languages

This book is nice but wasn't what I really expected. It is not a "book" but more of the short sentence list that is translated. There is no real flow. I had a native Bosnian speaker compare the translations and he said they are pretty accurate with minor differences in how people would say things in real life. The book seems a little dated (a lot of talk about cigarettes and discos) and I feel like it was made for languages in general and then translated. There is no cultural awareness (several sentences asking about pork/sausages). I wish it had included relevant facts about the country and culture. If you have a native speaker who can supplement your learning then this is okay but if not it is not the best book to learn from.

My boyfriend speaks Bosnian and English and I decided it would be fun to try to learn some Bosnian to speak to him in his native language. This book is working very good, I am learning a lot and he said it is very accurate.

This is a great little primer for learning some basic phrases and words of Bosnian. I used this book in conjuction with my intensive Bosnian language class and it definitely helped me to get more conversationally fluent.

My boyfriend is Bosnian and I wanted to learn little phrases just to impress him. When I said "volim te", he was so proud of me, he got teary-eyed. It means I love you in Bosnian.

Waste of time and money. Very basic, badly written with lots of incorrect English phrases. Evidently written by someone with rather poor English language skills. I am amazed anyone can actually publish something like this, and sell it on Amazon, or anywhere....

I didn't give five stars because there is a lack of productive exercises, type: fill in the gaps, having the answers for it, etc.But, nevertheless, I think the book is great. It consists of 100 lessons which will be more than good enough to learn lots of new words, sentence structures, and so on.I recommend the book.

Excellent book that provides great insight to the language!

This book, along with a grammar book and dictionary, is extremely effective for learning and reenforcing Bosnian vocabulary and grammar. In addition, the print is large enough to read while exercising, etc. Highly recommended.
