After carefully reading all of the reviews, we decided to give this one a try! I can report, I am glad that we did.Wife made mac & cheese from scratch and part of that required freshly shredded cheese. She said that she cut the block of cheese proportionate to the tube and had very minimal issues. She said in fact, it was easier to clean after she was done. She stated that she is very happy with this attachment.Pros: quality, easy to cleanCons: none noted at this time

After my KitchenAid branded slicer broke at the junction where the plastic shoot meets the metal grater housing, I decided to try this all-metal slicer shredder attachment in hopes of avoiding the same issue. It fits perfectly into my mixer and the metal construction feels robust and durable. However, I found that the quality of the shredder attachments themselves could be improved. While the overall build is promising, the shredding performance could be better. Still, it’s a worthwhile upgrade from the plastic version if you’re looking for more durability.

This is very sturdy, nice and smooth. Ease of use, and value for your money. Works with my kitchen aid easy to clean. Just out in soapy water.

This is a very useful item. It came quickly and fits my mixer perfectly. I'm a happy camper!

This is well built but I tried using it to do things I would normally use a shredder for. This was having the damnedest time trying to shred cooked chicken (which is soft) and potatoes. I have to push down on the thing that pushes the food into the blade, I had to push really hard, I was concerned that I was going to break it, luckily I didn't but I also had to stick something inside the rotating thing to try to get the food inside of it to come out.I used the largest shredder for the chicken; it turned it into like a chicken powder, lol, not shredded chicken, still tasted good though.I will keep it but I was hoping it would replace my food processor shredder, I don't think it does.

It grated the cheese easily and did a very good job. More than happy. Now we can stop buying grated cheese and save some money with fewer chemicals.

This is the only off brand attachment I’ve tried for my kitchen aid thus far and I can’t tell the difference! Works well and is a total game changer in the kitchen. I’ve put all parts in the dishwasher several times without issue, so cleanup is a breeze
