Item was simple to assemble and very light weight to move once assembled.

Very thin
Works well and is easy to move and use as needed but doesn't take like to burn a hole in the bottom. Just built thin.

Portable & Practical
The Catalina Creations Cauldron/firepit is a very nice looking all steel portable firepit that is a great addition to your patio, back yard or camp grounds. The Cauldron requires a few minutes of assembly, easy peasy stuff ….. the cauldron has a matt-black finish that looks like it should do well to inhibit rust for at least a few years.IMO the first time you use it, you should keep your distance & take care not to breath any smoke/fumes that will come off/out of the cauldron for about 5-10 minutes just to be safe.... as the smoke from the first fire will contain some paint burn off.The cauldron is lightweight enough so it can be easily moved about as needed.... it is well ventilated, & the screen openings are small enough to keep all but the smallest sparks/embers contained..... wind can be a problem though, so exercise caution.Wind is the reason I could not build a little test fire for the review picture.... just too windy to risk it.The nights are always on the cool side all year round up here in the NE... so this is going to prove very useful to us & I am looking forward to using it :)The Catalina Creations Cauldron is a 5 Star winner in my eyes.... Highly recommended

Great size, easy to assemble.
Well this was a big win! Dead easy to assemble, and a nice large size. I like the walls of this which let in air and let you see the fire - it gives off and awesome light! This is a nice large size - you can fit the logs you cut in here no problem. There's a small hole in the center which lets air in but also for draining water which it is doing right now as it is raining! Comes with the traditional metal hook thing to lift the top on and off when in use. Great fire pit!

DOA (Dented on Arrival) and Poorly Constructed
4 month update:Not too surprised given my initial review but after 4 months of being outside this summer, there is already rust all over this. Hopefully I can get at least a year out of it.What a bummer. I was looking forward to upgrading from my current fire pit but what arrived was a major downgrade. Will this get the job done? Yes, you can have a fire in it. However, I experienced 3 major problems with mine (see pics).1. The pit arrived dented (see picture). With gentle pressure I was able to push the sides out somewhat but not the rim. The rim had multiple pinches that would not give.2. The inner lip on the rim was not smoothed out and is sharp to the touch. Be careful when you pick this product up. You need to pick it up from the bottom and not the rim.3. The cover doesn’t actually cover the whole rim. There are 3 screws that stick out into the pit, and the cover sits on top of those screws. This leaves about a ½ inch circumference exposed. It not only looks cheap, but I can already predict marshmallows and hot dogs getting stuck on the screws when you take them out of the pit.A few positive notes are that it is lightweight and easy to put together.Overall, this fire pit is poorly designed and poorly constructed. There are much better options out there in this price point. This is a pass for me.

No
This fire pit (Cauldron??) is made of perforated black metal with the thickness and strength of a tin can. It arrived bent, though frankly that wasn’t a huge problem because the side could be bent back into shape so easily. The top edges of the circular container are just slightly bent rather than crimped. Those edges were also bent. The thing went together in a few minutes, using the enclosed screws to attach the flimsy four legs to the main container. It also comes with a round metal mesh cover with a handle, that serves as a spark guard — or would if it actually fit. The instructions warn that the pit and cover can get very hot. Ok. There is also a medium length poker that can be used to stir up a fire and to lift the cover. So, after assembly, we decided this was too flimsy, and not an item we felt safe using, so we put it out in the sidewalk with a “free” sign, and it was gone within 5 minutes. I hope the folks who took it use it safely.

Nice Fire Pit with So-So Finish
This is a nice fire pit for the money, but it's a little flimsy and the finish is not durable. To be fair, the instructions acknowledge that you will need to get some heat-resistant paint to touch up the finish, but the original paint on the lid ring wore off due to contact with the included hook during my first use. The pit was bent a little out of round upon receipt and had to be bent back into shape for the lid to fit properly. Assembly was easy, with hardware included. Just be sure to face toward the inside the slotted ends of the threaded rods that support the lid.The fire did fine, although air to the center is limited due to the solid bottom. That solid bottom, however, helps retain ashes and minimize radiated heat off the bottom of the fire. The sides are nicely slotted to show the fire, while minimizing escape of sparks. A hooked rod is included for removing the lid to tend to the fire. Unfortunately, the ring on the lid tends to fall flat and it's a little hard to get the hook under it.Overall, it's a decent fire pit at a decent price. Just be aware of the potential issues noted above.Review of: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GAA35ME"Catalina Creations AD823 26" Steel Cauldron with Cutouts, Black"
