A good, brief overview.
It covers a variety of common Victorian themes and covers a vast majority of subjects regarding the art and death culture. A good quick read!

Is this AI?
Full of general statements with little context, this book is poorly written. My best guess is that it's AI written, or alternatively, someone has skimmed a few websites to paraphrase. There are some amazing books out there about the history of post-mortem photography and hair art. There is also an array of full text papers freely available.I'd highly recommend seeking out a better researched paper or book is you are interested in the subject.

Entirely too short. Fantastic read.
Being a photographer I've always been interested in Victorian death photography so I was delighted to find something on the subject.

Fairly informative but...
Showing only one example of each form is baffling. There are countless examples out there that would show different techniques of post mortem photography, including several that you didn’t cover ( such as the stands used to hold the deceased in a standing position for the photo). Also, you spoke of hair jewelry, yet only showed a ring. It would have been much more interesting if you had shown pictures of some of the other types of jewelry mentioned. Overall, maybe a bit more info and a lot more photos would have made this a much better read.

Not a book
It's a pamphlet. Mind you, for two quid it provides a basic overview. Bibliography is useful for a more in depth look at the subjects briefly covered

Good for a first glimpse into this practice.
Some of it was inaccurate and I hoped there would be more photographs. Short insight into times gone by. Short but interesting.

Too short
Not enough information or images to make up a book or to be of any use to anyone looking to research the time period.
