Extremely adaptable and functional with a lovely sunlike spectrum
I have a bunch of these and other grow lights, and these are my favorite in-living space grow lights. The most "efficient" grow lights -- used by people like indoor marijuana crop enthusiasts -- have a mixture of blue and red LEDs only. Those do work and I have some of them, but their odd net-purple lighting feels very artificial, I don't really like that in my living space. Meanwhile the lovely sun-like spectrum of these particular grow lights feels very natural and pleasant. For those of us in more wintry places, in the dark depths of winter the light these give off sure is cheery, pleasant in living spaces, and (at least anecdotally IMHO) seems to help with my own seasonal depression due to lack of natural sunlight in the depths of winter. These grow lights have not only revivified plants dying due to lack of sunlight in little condo windows deep in the city, but me too.Their flexible goose necks and clamp allow them to be set up just about anywhere, on anything, and with a little creativity in their mounting, bending, paired with their innate attractive minimalist but not-industrial design, they can actually look fairly stylish in many situations about the condo or house. The timer is very useful. I have had mine on 12 hour cycles and they just take care of themselves (and their plant wardens) and have done so without a single fault or breakage for a number of years now. I have made it work for me, but I will admit, while useful, the timer setup is a bit limited. It only has like three preset settings, 12h and something like 6h and 8h, so those cycles are your only options. One also cannot set a precise time for the timer. Instead, the first time one sets up timing, one has to manually turn the timer on with the appropriate cycle selected right when one wants to start the selected cycle in its "on" phase. From there on things are automatic, but if you are trying to coordinate things between different sets of these, or want to adjust the cycles for daylight savings time, etc... one has to frantically manually redo and re-time everything for each one individually on its own. This can be a pain if one is not usually available to do this task at the hours one needs to manually initiate the preferred timing cycle. On the plus side this means the timing device is small, sleek, and very simple to use, but if one has a number of these lights (like I do) and one wants to coordinate things and adjust cycles across the year it can get a bit frustrating. If one has more complex timing needs one actually can't use these lights. Other grow-lights can often be set into a state where they can be plugged into a 3rd party wall-socket timer so complex timing operations can be performed. These lights default to "off" on power outage so one is strictly limited to their inbuilt timing.Still, five stars from me, as they do everything I really need from them, can be set up with just about anything anywhere, look great both in themselves and in the cheery sun-like light they cast, and make both me and my plants feel great.

Great grow light, customizable to your needs
I keep a lot of plants and unfortunately the way my apartment is oriented, it doesn't get a lot of sunlight. I picked this light based on the fact that it's a full-spectrum light, and has a decent power output. Have been using the light for over 2 years, and have picked up 2 more since then, for a total of 3 pairs of these lamps. They're great and my plants are very happy. The only minor issue I have is with the timer. It allows you to keep the light on for 12, 6, or 3 hours. Perhaps that's really what plants crave, but I think I would also like an option to keep it on for 18 hours - for cacti and other desert plants that get a lot more sunlight in the nature. Still, a quality product.

Love these lights, but not dependable.
I have three of these grow lights. On two of the units I've purchased one of the bulbs stopped working after about five months. I still love them. My plants perk up almost immediately when placed under the lights (that is why the 4 stars). I just wish they were more dependable. A bit pricey for lights that only last six months. You can still use the bulb that works and just push the non-working bulb out of the way. On my last purchase I bought the insurance which I just used to purchase another unit. Maybe this will be the winner! I do have one that both bulbs are still working.I don't know if you can still purchase the insurance. I couldn't.Bottom line, good grow lights, but don't count on them working for a year. Also, the timer needs to be reset occasionally. It starts coming on earlier than originally set.

Plants love it
Plants really seemed to have responded positively to this. The gooseneck does a good job of staying in place when I set them. My only complaint is the timer options: 3 hours, 6 hours, or 12 hours. Personally I think a 6, 8 and 12 hour option would be a lot more useful. I’ve used the timer function on the 6 hour and 12 hour functions, and it seems pretty accurate. I bought two of these lights. The one in the living room stays on the timer for 6 hours, and supplements a different plant light which I have on a manual timer for 8 hrs/day. The one in my room I turn on and off manually, since the indicator light for the timer is very bright and I haven’t gotten around to covering it with tape yet, and I also want to give those plants 8 hours of light. The cord for the lights is fairly long, which is also nice.

Died after 2.5 years
A nice lamp but after two and a half years stopped working. That's not long enough.

Perfect sunlamp
Love this for a few reasons. It’s got an adjustable anchor/clip, so it fits on a variety of table top surfaces. It comes assembled. You can move the rods to the position that you want for specifically aimed lighting on your plants. There’s brightness options as well as a timer (It turns on at the same time every day) After just two days, my cactus lifted and is a happy girl. Oh! And even the cat likes it.
