I learned so much information from this book. It taught me also how to think like a striper. These books are the only ones I have read in the past 5 years.

As someone who came from the west coast and was used to fishing the California Delta for striper I had no real clue what to do when I moved out to the east coast. By chance I happened upon Alan's shortly after making the move out here and it changed the game for me.Back home I had about 4 baits/lures I could use year round, not so much the case on the Cheapeake. Everywhere I looked I was seeing so many different strategies and techniques for striper (or rockfish as they call them out here) that I didn't even know where to start. This booked helped me quickly dial in strategies and locations and I have been on the fish ever since.If you are an experienced kayak angler or just starting out and hope to get on some striper, I highly suggest picking up a copy of this book, or even one of his other two if trolling isn't your thing, you will not be disappointed!

This is the 2nd book I have bought from Author Alan Batista on fishing for Stripers on the Chesapeake Bay. Alan is a very well known and highly respected Angler in my neck of the woods. I have been fishing the Chesapeake Bay my whole life but have learned an incredible amount of useful, realistic knowledge from these books. Ive been privledged to of had the opportunity to talk and listen to this man talk about Striper Fishing. He's is choked full of a ridiculous amount of knowledge. It's his attention to the smallest detail that separates him from the rest. Light Tackle Kayak Trolling the Chesapeake Bay is an easy read and thoroughly enjoyable. Make sure you get your copy today as well as his other book Light Tackle Kayak Jigging the Chesapeake Bay. You won't be sorry and you'll be far better off in just a few short pages. This is a great book for how to catch striper in the Chesapeake with trolling. I just started fishing for striper and these techniques have enabled me to catch hundreds of fish already. Alan is very comprehensive and thorough. Strongly recommend this book

I first bought this book back when I owned a kayak. Not long after, I discovered kayak fishing wasn't for me. Fast forward 1 year later and I bought a 19' tiller boat. I was thrilled to discover that the vast majority of the information in Alan's book was applicable to trolling with a motor or trolling with a kayak. I went from only catching a few very small striped bass years ago to catching them regularly and a recent personal best of 43" using the principles in this book. Check out his jigging book as well!!

The subtitle, Guide to Gear, Location and Trolling Tactics for Striped Bass, is a good hint as to the valuable information in the book, however there is much more! It has also helped me organize my tackle for my kayak, helped consider rod holder placement, easily explained how to fish new (or local) water, and the best discussion for me is light tackle trolling to find fish, then casting and jigging to catch more! And, after using this book as a reference for the past few years now, the bonus section on troubleshooting is spot on!

This is my second book by this author. He doesn't disappoint! If you kayak fish , especially troll from your kayak this book is full of knowledge!! Keep writing Alan!

Great book I, I used Alan's techniques and recommend lures and landed around 25 striped bass on my two day kayak fishing trip to the lower Potomac river and this was my 1st striped bass fishing attempt. I would recommend this book to anyone looking to improve their striped bass fishing game. Thanks Alan!
