Engage Organics Spices, Mexi-Mix, 1.90 Ounce

I loved "It's A Dilly" and still have some, even though they stopped making it quite a few years ago. This product is close, but does not quite make it. Compare ingredients:McCormick It's A Dilly:Onion, garlic, dill weed, lemon peel, dill seed and jalapeno pepper.Engage Organics It's a Dilly:Garlic, sesame seed, dill, lemon peel, jalapeno pepper and STEVIA.That's right. No onion, and they added sesame seed and STEVIA! Ugh. I can always taste the sugar substitutes in everything. This may be all right with you if you use it in recipes that call for a bit of sweetness, but if you're looking for a more savory taste, this might not do it for you. I use the McCormicks mainly in otherwise bland canned soups, and it really jazzes them up! But now, I've got to taste STEVIA. Bleech. Not even sure it's safe.This is a nice company though, and I got a sample packet of several of their other spices when I received my order, along with a welcoming note. I hope they read this and take out the Stevia.Why did you do it, Engage Organics? Why, why, why???

We make pancakes for our three children every Saturday morning. This week our Sweet-Cinn came in the mail so we decided to spice up our Saturday morning breakfast by adding it to our pancakes. It was AMAZING! We put a half teaspoon in the pancake batter along with some mini chocolate chips and the flavor popped. The Sweet-Cinn adds just the right amount of sweetness to the pancakes while the cinnamon blend brings life to a traditional morning favorite. We bought five of the other Engage Organic spices and can't wait to experiment in the kitchen with them. We're such big fans of the product line - we LOVE the fact that it's a family-owned business using all local ingredients from Northern California - that we bought it for our family, friends, co-workers and our children's teachers for Christmas gifts.

This product was originally distributed by McComick spices. I fell in love! When the6 discontinued the product, I searched for it and found Engage Organics. The price was always reasonable. Because it is hard to find, the cost has doubled. Depends on how badly you want it.

Original blend doesn't have much flavor and way too many sesame seeds. Not sure what the point of the flavorless sesame seeds is anyway. To rub on a prime rib I added alot of fresh coarse cracked pepper and that made the biggest difference.

To me, this is okay and will probably not go out of my way to buy it again, for I have and older original bottle of it and it is far better tasting from the bottle and after it has been sprinkled on your salad or fish. I am saddened by they change of their product. Don't fix it if it isn't broke!

I love this garlic spice blend! Use it in scrambled eggs, soups, stews, to season meats and more! No salt and a good strong garlic taste.
